I'm so jealous

This looks so cool and I would love to learn to zill.

But I'm going to a wedding of someone I've known since 1980 (when he was the 4 year old who lived next door.)

Zilling To The Sound Of The Middle Eastern Drum

Middle Eastern percussionist Chris Gacsi from Upland, California

Chris has been a music educator for more than 25 years. For the past 15 years she has studied Middle Eastern, West African, Afro-Cuban/Brazilian and First Nation rhythm traditions and cultures with numerous masters. She is the artistic director for Luna Party!, a five woman World Music Ensemble. She teaches a series of World Percussion classes for women and girls, entitled The Rhythm of Life. Chris also accompanies several belly dance troupes and individual performers.

Learn how to zill to different Middle Eastern drum rhythms. Middle Eastern Percussionist Chris Gacsi will go over the basic Middle Eastern drum rhythms with you, then show you how to zill to these rhythms.

Registration: 10:00 to 11:00, Lunch from 1:00 to 2:00 (bring your own)

Directions: 417 to Moodie Drive South (exit 134). Cross Robertson Road. Turn right at the first light onto Tyrrell Place. Turn Left onto Seyton. The School is on the right.

Bring your drum and zills. There will be some drums and some zills available for use. Zills will be available for sale ranging from $15 to $20 and drums will be available for sale as well.

Cost: $50 before July 10 (cheque must be made out for, and envelope must
be post marked by July 10)

$60 after July 10
